VoIP: Setting up a simple PSTN Gateway with the Sipura 3000

These settings will allow you to make calls to the PSTN using #9, receive calls from the PSTN and make and receive calls from VoIP.

First you will need to factory reset the Sipura. To do this press **** on the keypad of the phone attached to the unit. Next enter 73738 and when prompted press 1 to confirm. The unit will reset itself.

You will next need to get the IP address of the unit. Unplug the PSTN line from the unit and then press **** followed by 110#. Note down the IP address that the unit gives you.

From an internet Browser enter http://IP_address (using the IP address you received from the unit)

Log onto the Sipura unit as the Advance Admin user.

In the Regional tab change the following settings:

  • Time Zone: GMT
  • Caller ID Method: ETSI FSK With PR(UK)
In the Line 1 tab change the following settings:

Proxy and Registration

  • Proxy: as supplied in your welcome email
  • Use Outbound Proxy: Yes
  • Outbound Proxy: nat.freevirtualnumbers.co.uk:5082
  • Register: Yes

Subscriber Information

  • Display Name: Your name
  • User ID: As supplied in your welcome email
  • Password: Your password
  • Use Auth ID: Yes
  • Auth ID: The same as the User ID

Audio Configuration

DTMF Tx Method: AVT + INFO

Dial Plan

Dial Plan: ([2-79]99<:@gw0>|xx.|*xx.|**xx.|<#1,:>xx.<:@gw1>|<#9,:>xx.<:@gw0>|<#9,:> *xx<:@gw0>)

PSTN Line

  • PSTN-To-VoIP Gateway Enable: Yes
  • PSTN Ring Thru Line 1: Yes
  • PSTN CID For VoIP CID: Yes
  • PSTN Caller Default DP: 2

PSTN Disconnect Detection

  • Detect CPC: Yes
  • PSTN Long Silence Duration: 10
  • VoIP Long Silence Duration: 10
  • Min CPC Duration: 0.09
  • Disconnect Tone: 400@-30,400@-30;5(*/0/1+2)

There are many more configuration changes that can be made to make the dial tones sound like UK dial tones.
